This announcement comes from World Federation General Secretary Jan Lek as reported in the July issue of Seventh Day Baptist WORLD. (It was also announced at General Conference.)
“We regret to announce that we will not be holding sessions of the World Federation in the Philippines in 2015. We received a letter from the United SDB Churches in the Philippines in which they explain that they are unable to host these sessions as planned (originally for 2013, later postponed to 2015).
“The WF Core Executive Committee will meet on October 28 to discuss options for holding the next sessions. I will be traveling to Westerly, Rhode Island, USA for that meeting.”
Secretary Lek expressed his regret of the decision but was aware of the great expense of hosting during critical financial times, and looks forward to continued communication and work with the Philippine Conference.
