What do you think is the most important role of the World Federation in the work of your Conference or in the mission of Seventh Day Baptists throughout the world?
• to keep all conferences informed (Communication) of
the work and ministry of each conference, offer advice
to member conferences on how they can improve ways
and means of carrying out their function, and to offer
support, any way possible, to these conferences or sug-
gest mediums through which they can garner support.
(Levy, Jamaica)
• to bring us together in the decision-making of the
Federation. (Nsubuga, Uganda)
• to advise us how to spread the Gospel and better
organize our conference; to bring us together with
other SDB conferences: to facilitate spiritual, technical,
and financial cooperation with other conferences.
(Karimutumye, Rwanda)
• to connect SDBs as a family of God; to be an avenue
through which we can see how God is working around
the world and know what we can do to support each
other—spiritually, emotionally, physically and financially;
to help us forge bonds with each other that will not be
broken by differences in opinion or lifestyle or race.
(M.Taylor, USA & Canada)
• to recommend, implement, and monitor projects in the
conferences across the world.
(Maduka/Malawi)
• to organize international meetings where the delegates
get to personally experience the fellowship of the
larger community of believers. Typically our people
are a minority group, isolated from others by great
distances. The returning delegates then are able to
transmit this sense of being part of a global relation-
ship to their local churches, providing encouragement
in the face of their often great challenges.
(Brown, USA & Canada)
• to bring unity and fellowship of the Seventh Day Baptist
leaders from all over the world; to provide knowledge
that can be applied in individual conferences.
